Remove nail polish from the nail bed with acetone or nail polish remover.
File the shiny layer and any lifting or damaged acrylic/gel from the nail with a nail file or a nail drill.
Apply gel bonder to any area where natural nail is exposed. Cure for 30 seconds.
Apply UV gel or acrylic to the chipped area of the nail in a light sweeping motion (for UV gel and in a brush on method for acrylic) until it is filled in. Cure for 1 minute.
Step 5 (If you need a fill)
Apply gel to the bottom of the nail bed (near cuticle but not on) and fill in where gel or acrylic has begun to recede.
Step 6: For UV gel Cure for 2 minutes then wipe nail with UV GEL cleanser or alcohol. For acrylic begin to file the nail buff and shine until it is smooth and ready for polish.
Apply your choice of polish or shellac.

In this video I will demonstrate how you can fix a cracked or chipped OR broken nail right from home. I am fixing my chipped gel. So here I will be using UV gel which requires a UV lamp. Be advised that you will follow the same steps if you are using acrylic with a few minor differences and without the need to use a UV Dryer lamp.
